America: No Peace Beyond the Line is a real-time strategy game set in the 19th century in the southwestern United States on the border with Mexico. You can play as the Sioux, Mexicans, Bandits, and Americans. Each side of the conflict is represented by unique units and individual battle strategy. Requires you to collect resources, build buildings, and attack enemy territories. American Conquest offers a single-player campaign and online competition.

Resources are food, wood, gold, guns, and horses. Provisions are obtained by hunting. Game can be hunted by hunters, archers, and militiamen. Meat is given by bison, cows, and horses.

Women working in the fields. Wood is essential for building structures and houses. Gold allows you to hire more units. Guns allow you to arm your fighters. Soldiers on horseback move faster through locations. If you build a ranch, you will be able to keep more than 80 units of food. Campaigns are represented by missions of missions each. All 4 scenarios differ from each other and contain unique mechanics.

The game as a bandit is of particular interest. They do not produce anything. All resources must be looted and taken away. The main food is whiskey. For the brigands the gameplay turns into a tactical strategy, while the campaign for the other factions is a classic RTS game. Under close scrutiny, it’s apparent that this game is, like so many others, a cookie-cutter Age of Empires clone. There is nothing truly innovative about America. Nevertheless, the well-integrated western frontier theme to the best of my knowledge, previously unseen in an RTS is, in and of itself, quite fresh and novel. Ultimately, America may be little more than Age of Empires with teepees, cavalry outposts, and saloons, but in spite of this, its blend of tried and true gameplay style with an entertaining subject matter delivers a dose of good, old-fashioned fun.
