Microsoft word 2016 custom dictionary not available free
Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. When I try to use spell-checking, I get the message: The custom dictionary “Custom Dictionary” is not available. I know that I do have a custom dictionary, because on the Preferences screen I can open it to view and edit it. What does that message mean? How can I get around it?

Thanks for the link. Tells me some things I’ve often been curious about. It does not explain my error message, but it does say that when Add is grayed out – as it is on my screen – that means a custom dictionary is not defined.
Maybe I just need to delete this one and start a new one. I don’t know what the problem is. I guess I can save the existing words and copy them to the new one. Thanks for your feedback.
